After Sara and Scott were awarded by El Paso County for being 911 Heroes, they were nominated by the county for the American Red Cross Youth Hometown Hero Award. This was quite something to be very proud of. The American Red Cross puts on this event once a year and there are only a few awards given in different categories. Fox 21 News and the Gazette Telegraph come out to our house and did news stories about what they did and how they acted to help me the day I fell from the horse. The Awards ceremony was held on March 21, 2013 at the Antlers, 6-9 pm. It was a dinner and awards ceremony. The kids were sponsored by The United States Olympic Committee. Mr. Rick Adams sat at our table for dinner and he brought us all USA T-shirts as a gift. Our family and Grandpa Darrel got to attend.
