Thanksgiving week-Trip to North Dakota 2008
We took our second trip to North Dakota the week of Thanksgiving. Chad's dad was diagnosed with large B-cell lymphoma cancer in July (I think) and that is why all the trips to North Dakota. Chad wants to be able to spend as much time with Harry as he can. We had a great trip again. Chad was able to spend time at the ranch in Towner helping his dad, Randy and Shane do some work that needed to be done. Harry had some cattle in a pasture that needed to be moved back over by his place, so we all got to go on a "Cattle Chase". It was pretty fun, especially for the kids. They moved the cattle about 5 miles using snowmobiles. Cousin Shane gave rides to the kids. The next couple days they sorted and worked the cattle, Seth enjoyed all of this. (He seems in his element.) Wheening the calves, giving shots, cutting horns and pouring for bugs. Chad also helped drill a sand point to help get water into the water hole for the cattle. This is where Scott had a blast running the bucket truck...he wanted to run it with Donny in the bucket. Scott also got to go with Cousin Shane and Randy on a wild cow chase. He was delighted to see them rope the cow and even find candy in the pick-up, which he ate. We got to watch cousin Madison play a basketball game in Bottineau and had Thanksgiving dinner up at Jim and Lana's farm in Sherwood. We will return for Christmas.
